How to Play Ludo Online for Free
Ludo is a race game for two to four players. Each player controls four coloured tokens and tries to move every token from the yard, around the shared track, and into the centre home area before anyone else.
Online Ludo keeps the familiar board and die while handling legal moves, captures, safe spaces, and turn order automatically. You can play against bots or create a private game for friends.
The Basic Ludo Rules
- Roll a six to move a token out of your yard and onto its starting square.
- Choose one legal token and move it by the full number shown on the die.
- Landing on one vulnerable opponent token sends it back to its yard.
- Starting squares and star-marked spaces are safe from captures.
- You need the exact roll to move through the home path and finish a token.
- Rolling a six gives another turn, but three consecutive sixes forfeit the turn.
How a Turn Works Online
1. Roll the die
Select the roll button. The game highlights which tokens can legally move with that result.
2. Choose a token
Move a token out with a six, advance a token already on the track, or take an exact move into the home area.
3. Resolve the landing
Captures, safe squares, blockades, extra turns, and the next player's turn are handled automatically.
Beginner Ludo Tips
- Bring more than one token onto the board so a bad roll does not leave you without options.
- Use safe spaces when an opponent is close behind.
- Capture when it improves your position, but do not expose an advanced token without a reason.
- Move tokens into the home path whenever the exact count is available.
Ways to Play Ludo Online
Use solo mode to learn the board against bots, or create a private room and share the invite link with friends. Optional video chat lets everyone talk while the game stays on the same page.
